Dangerous Driving

On Wednesday I went for a countryside drive
slid off the road and hit a bee hive
A mass of bees came swarming round
And stung me till I was hospital bound.
They Injected me with adrenalin see
To take away my misery
But when well again
I had the last laugh
With a petrol jug made out of glass
I lit the wick with a firestick
And Burned the hive
That done the trick.

SLIME

MY FRIEND VIC WAS SUCH A DIME
HIS TEETH ALWAYS GREEN AND COVERED IN SLIME
HIS HAIR SO RED AND FIERY TOO
LIKE HIS TEMPER' CHILI IN A STEW
SO WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM
HIS NAN AND MUM
COULD HAVE GROWN UP TO BE A BUM
BUT KNOWING GINGE THE WAY I DID THEN
A LAUGH EVERY MINUTE OF EVERYDAY
COULD'NT POSSIBLY BE ANY OTHER WAY.
YES MY FRIEND VIC WAS MY VERY GOOD FRIEND
IT WAS SUCH A SHAME IT HAD TO END

Thought Provoking On Leadership

The Leader is best,
When people are hardly aware of his existence,
Not so good when people praise his government,
Less good when people stand in fear,
Worst, when people are contemptuous.
Fail to honor people, and they will fail to honor you.
But of a good leader, who speaks little
When his work is done, his aim fulfilled,
The people say, ‘We did it ourselves.’
~ Lao Tzu, Chinese philosopher,
Founder of Taoism (born circa. 500 BC)

TRAMP

WENT TO A SHOW TODAY, WALKED PAST A DRUNK
I THINK HOW DISGUSTING WHAT A NASTY SKUNK
SITTING THERE ALONE WITHOUT ANY MONEY
PONCING OFF ME, IT'S NOT VERY FUNNY.
"GO GET A JOB" THAT'S WHAT I SAY
AS HE HOLDS OUT HIS HAND, TO MY DISMAY.
"I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR WORK TO PAY MY WAY",
"I'M 56 YEARS OLD AND FEELING SO ILL,
IT WON'T BE LONG UNTIL I PAY MY BILL".
"JUST AN EXCUSE" I HEAR MYSELF SAY TO THE MAN ON THE STREET,
HOLES IN THE SOLES ON THE SHOES ON HIS FEET.
"GO GET A JOB YOU WORTHLESS LOUT
THEN YOU CAN GET A HOME AND WON'T LAY ABOUT".
"I USED TO LIVE IN A FIVE BEDROOM HOUSE,
HAD LOVELY CHILDREN OF 3 & 4 UNTIL
SHE TOOK THEM AWAY AND THREW ME OUT",
"NOW I LIVE ON THE STREET LIKE A WORTHLESS MOUSE"
"WELL IT'LL DO NO GOOD SITTING ABOUT,
YOU MUST HAVE DONE SOMETHING TO BE WITHOUT?"
"MY ONLY SIN IS THIS, I SWEAR,
80 HOURS A WEEK OF THE HARDEST WORK,
IN A LITTLE TOWN, A PLACE CALLED WARE"
"YES, OF COURSE YOU DID, I SNARLED AT THE MAN
SO WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT?.. AS IF I FROWN"
"I WENT TO BANKRUPT AND LOST IT ALL
SHE TOOK MY HOUSE MY KIDS AND ALL,
NOW I HAVE CANCER WITH NOT MUCH TIME
NO SUIT FOR THE FUNERAL, NOT A DIME.
I DON'T WANT HELP COZ LIFE'S THAT WAY
JUST A BOTTLE OF WHISKY TO HELP THE PAIN"
I KIND OF FELT SORRY FOR THIS MAN'S GRIEF,
SO I GAVE HIM 2 POUNDS AND FELT INSTANT RELIEF.
UNUSUAL STORY I FELT MYSELF SAY
THEN I GATHERED MY THOUGHTS AND WALKED AWAY.

FAMILY

I remember a family sitting together around our small but warm coal fire
A heat we felt was like no other or was that the warmth of my loving mother
coal cracked and spat onto the hearth, no feeling like it upon this earth
I pointed the fire with a poker to expose the flame that rose up higher
Mum told me "you're a fire bug" as she splashed water on the rug,
but then she went away and came back in with lot's of ovaltines and a mug for me.

All of us with such young lives, taking for granted food in the cupboard, like bee's in a hive
If only we could see, how it would be, a struggle to grow and the will to succeed
To earn a living and support our own, savings with cash, veg freshly grown
now growing old, remembering good times, I can still hear your laughter with the wind in my chimes
As a family we never had much yet we had warm clothes, good food and a caring mothers love.

Tories destruction of Britain (here we go again) Now more riots

I could not help looking back at the birth of the year of 2001 the beginning of the present decade, with the hopes and aspirations which we thought would have changed the course of life for the better for humankind as a whole, especially the British Working Classes.
In 1997 we had just seen off 18 years of a Conservative Government which slowly destroyed the Industrial base of England.  We saw the disappearance of the Coal Industry where we witnessed the state of affairs which leaves one to wonder how one woman could turn brothers against brother, fathers against son, and wives against husband, this did happen.

We saw the destruction of the Steel Industry where one by one the Steel Furnaces were closing down leaving thousands of people unemployed, while new steel factories were established in India, Korea and Taiwan, the jobs were taken from the workers of this country, and moved overseas for cheap labour.
We saw the privatisation of the Railways where the Trains were sold to one section of private enterprise, while the tracks were sold to another.  We saw the death of the Car Industry where the Car Factories were sold one by one to foreign investment leaving the workers without a means of earning a livelihood.
Even one of the most important industries we had the Rolls Royce Manufacturers of  Aeroplane Engines and Cars was sold to the highest bidder, when all of these industries disappeared so did the livelihood of the people.   The Miners strike was the most potent of all, hatred gripped the country, and all the other industries which were sold had their Trade Unions purposely destroyed.
Now here we go again, we also face riot,s for the second time with Tory government cuts, however the Tories are not completely to blame, there's no denying that a proportion of the blame lay with the Lib/Con cuts  but unfortunately greed has also reared it's ugly head with the want now, spoilt and selfish society that is today's Britain. perhaps if the Conservatives had not destroyed the social care and well being of friendly neighbourhoods, common care for one anothers interests and friendliness toward each other by making britain a money loving, independent and selfish society, then perhaps the riots taking place this week would not be.. however innocent people need protecting and a hard line must be drawn now before it is too late.
At the same time cuts in welfare and social care must be halted immediately and investment in our country has to be made before it is too late and there is no country left to invest in.
