Season

WITHER I WANDER,WITHER I DO,
FALLEN LEAVES, ARE WET WITH THE DEW,
AUTUMN DOES COME, CHANGING THE YEAR
FROM WHAT WAS ONCE COME, TO WHAT IS NOW HERE

RED, GREEN AND GOLD, THE YEAR HAS GROWN OLD
BEAUTIFUL COLOURS, BRIGHT AND SO BOLD
WITH IT A SADNESS, FOR WINTER IS DUE
TO TAKE AWAY SUN AND BRING IN THE COLD
HOW WILL YOU MISS HER BRINGING GOOD CHEER
OUT IN THE SUN ENJOYING THE BEER
T-SHIRTS ONCE WORN, NOW PUT AWAY
JUMPERS COME OUT, WIND IT DOES SWAY

WINTER IS CHILL, THERE'S SNOW ALL AROUND
COVERING THE TREES, GARDEN AND GROUND
BITTER AND COLD, YOU MUSTN'T DISMAY
FOR CHRISTMAS WILL COME AROUND ONCE AGAIN
SANTA IS COMING TO BEAR ALL THE GIFTS
A LITTLE BOY BORN, YOUR SPIRITS HE'LL LIFT

Chinese Army

Chinese army through the west, Chinese army, are the best

Marching through a land so dry, Marching on, through low and high

Continue into spring , Summer too, on they march, through and through

Chinese army won't be stopped, thousands march and thousands drop

On and on, feet are sore, tough and strong,  soldiers galore

Kill some Chinese, then kill some more, still they march on, more and more

Powerful pearl encrusted Armour, strong silver chain mail, finely polished dragon scale

Tips of helmet's encrusted with jewels, glowing bright, lighting hills

see them coming, run in fear, run to those loved one's you hold so dear

tell them quick of what's to come, a Chinese army with swords of blood

hope for rain from the hills, to drown the soldiers from the fields

be prepared for when they come the Chinese army are out for fun, sports of blood they shall play, against men who beg for souls and pray.

Chinese army passing through, leaving death in our view.

INNOCENT OF BLOODSHED

I'M NOT IN YOUR COUNTRY TO STEAL YOUR OIL
TO KILL YOUR LEADER AND ENCOURAGE A COUP
I'M NOT IN YOUR COUNTRY TO ESTABLISH BUSINESS
TO TAKE CONTROL OR TO ASSIST YOU

WE'RE NOT HERE TO STOP THE THE BLOODSHED
TO HELP THE HARDSHIP, TO PAINT THE TOWN RED
I'M NOT AROUND TO CLEAN UP THE MESS
TO PROVIDE YOU A TEST TO BUILD A NEST EGG

ALTHOUGH IF IT SUITS YOU TO BE DEMOCRATIC
TALK TO ME IT WILL SEEM AUTOMATIC
WE WILL BUILD GOLDEN TOWN'S
PLACE OIL PIPES DOWN
AND ALL FOR A SMALL LOAN TO FEED YOUR OLD
YOU CAN PAY US BACK WITH YOUR LIQUID BLACK GOLD
WE PROVIDE FOOD AT A MODEST, CHEAP SELL
A LITTLE MORE OIL WILL DO JUST AS WELL

WHEN YOUR OIL IS GONE, OUR INVESTORS ARE RICH
WHAT THINGS HAVE GOT HARD? WELL AIN'T LIFE A BITCH
WE WILL SEND IN SOME CASH TO ENCOURAGE A COUP
MAYBE YOUR NEW LEADERS WILL LOOK AFTER YOU
YOU HAVE NOTHING TO OFFER, YOUR COUNTRIES RUN DRY
HERE IS SOME SEED, GROW WHEATGERM AND RYE

THE COUNTRIES LOST BALANCE, YOUR LEADERS DEAD
WHAT DO YOU EXPECT WITH A BULLET IN HIS HEAD
WE HELPED YOU AS MUCH AS WE CAN
WE NEVER KILLED HIM, WE HELPED EVERY MAN
WE PROVIDED GUNS AND BULLETS TO YOU
ESTABLISHED DEMOCRACY IN YOUR BACK YARD ZOO

ENOUGH HAS BEEN SAID, NOW BE ON YOUR WAY
OR WE WILL USE OUR SUPERPOWER TO DEMOLISH YOU
WHAT ABOUT THE HUNGRY AND DESTRUCTIVE CITY
MAYBE YOUR RELIGION WILL TAKE SOME PITY

Hear no, see no, speak no

Is there no sound if I cannot hear
No screams and cries hurting one"s ear. No crying baby wiping a tear
No woeful sorrow of guilty fear

Is there nothing visible if I cannot see
No smacking a toddler in front of me
No punching a football fan in Chelsea
No stabbing with a knife violently

Is there nothing to say if one doesn't speak
No violent words do you beseech
No rashful chat or gossiping
No grasping anger do they seek
No sound or any leak, If I cannot speak.

If I cannot do all three
Hear, Speak or see
Should it have a chance to bother me
Could I feel the the hurt within me
if i cannot hear, speak or see.

QUIET GIRL

BULLIED AT SCHOOL, NO WHERE TO TURN,
CLOUT ROUND THE HEAD, MADE YOUR EARS BURN
THE LOUDEST GET HEARD AND SEEN AS GOOD FUN
BUT IT ISN'T SO NICE WITH A PUNCH IN THE TUM
TEACHERS ARE SYMPATHETIC OF THE BAD YEAR
BUT THE LOUDEST GET HEARD WITH ALL THEIR GOOD CHEER
TRY TO KEEP STILL, QUIET AND MEEK
HIDE IN THE LOO'S, PLAY HIDE AND SEEK
BY THE FIFTH GRADE, HAD TOO MUCH OF THIS HELL
WAIT BY THE GATE FOR THE SCHOOL BELL
SOON IT WILL RING FOR THE LAST TIME
THE SOUND WILL BE THE SWEETEST EVER CHIME
WALK OUT OF THE SCHOOL AND NOT TURN AROUND
THE QUICKEST THEY'LL SEE YOUR FEET HIT THE GROUND
FREEDOM AT LAST, GO GET A JOB
BUT IT'S ALREADY GONE TO A BULLYING YOB

THE OAK

DOWN THE ROAD WHERE I WAS BORN THERE WAS AN OAK SO CLEAN AND TALL
THE WONDEROUS BRANCHES UP SO HIGH, ALMOST REACHED AND TOUCHED THE SKY
IT GREW AND GREW YEAR AFTER YEAR, ALL WENT PAST BUT NOT TOO NEAR.
THE PARK IT CHANGED THE HOUSES TOO THE TREE WENT ON, JUST GREW AND GREW,
PLANS FOR BUILDINGS ALL AROUND STILL IT STOOD THERE SO BIG AND GRAND.
THEN CAME THE WIND THAT CHANGED THE WORLD , IT BLASTED IN AND MADE A SWIRL
DESTROYING ALL WITHIN IT'S PATH, BUT THE GRAND OLD OAK HAD THE LAST LAUGH
THE ELM'S WERE GONE, THE ROSE BUSHES TOO, EVERYTHING DESTROYED EVEN THE ZOO AND THE GRAND OLD OAK YOU MAY ASK?
STOOD STRONGER STILL AND SURVIVED THE BLAST
I'VE MOVED AROUND AND GONE ASTRAY, FAMILIES PAST AND GONE AWAY
I AM WEAKENED BY THE STORM THAT BLEW IN, LED ME AND TOOK ME FAR FROM HOME
ONE DAY, YEARS FROM NOW WHEN MY LIFE IS AT AN END
BLOWN AWAY IN HISTORIES BLEND
I HOPE THAT OAK GOES ON AND ON GROWING STRONG UNTIL WINTERS GONE

Bright Yellow Car

What"s that bright yellow car doing out there?
That"s the garden dad you"re looking at grass.
No through the window just out there
It"s enclosed Dad surrounded by a wall
there is no car it's far too tall.
Why are you saying that, I know what I see,
look it"s there don't take me for a fool.
Oh yeh dad I can see it now in the garden in front of the shed now do you want Ham, Cheese and pickle with bread?
What am I doing here, staying with you?

I know where I am, but who the hell are you?
What are you saying Dad it's me your daughter Sam
 and that's Andrew.
Oh, I don"t know who you people are
Just please take me home in your bright yellow car.

WHACK!!

PLEASE DO NOT HIT ME COS I DON'T LIKE PAIN
I KNOW I SCARE YOU BUT IT IS SUCH A SHAME
YOU HAVE TO USE VIOLENCE TO COVER YOUR FEAR
I COULD BE A FRIEND TO YOU, SOMEONE WHO'S DEAR
TO HIT AND BEAT ME WOULD LEAVE ME LAME
SQUASH ME FLAT AND DAMAGE MY BRAIN
BUT AS IT HAPPENS THE MAN LOST HIS GLANCE
THE NEWSPAPER MISSED AND RUINED HIS CHANCE
THE LITTLE PEST WAS GIVEN MUCH TIME TO HIS GAIN
AND THE SPIDER RAN OFF AND INTO THE DRAIN

CHARLIE BIT MY FINGER HARD

CHARLIE BIT MY FINGER, THEN BEGAN TO LAUGH
CHARLIE BIT MY FINGER BUT I HAVEN'T GOT A SCAR
IT WAS SO VERY PAINFUL THAT I ALMOST CRIED,
YET CHARLIE BIT MY FINGER RIGHT HERE ON THE SIDE
AFTER A LITTLE WHILE  I HAD COCO AND THEN A BATH
CHARLIE WENT TO BED AND I HEARD HIM LAUGH
WHY'S CHARLIE LAUGHING I ASKED MY MUM
"COZ DAD'S READING HIM A BOOK AND TICKLING HIS TUM"

HOW'S HE FIND IT FUNNY, HE'S TOO YOUNG TO KNOW
BUT CHARLIE LAUGHED HE LAUGHED AT ME, WHEN HE BIT MY FINGER SO
MY DAD PUT IT IN A DVD FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE
I WASN'T VERY HAPPY IN FACT I WAS ANGRY, ANGRY AS CAN BE
THAT EVERYONE IN THE WORLD WAS LAUGHING, LAUGHING JUST AT ME
I TOLD MY MUM IT WASN'T FUN, THEM ALL GIGGLING AT ME
MY MUM SAID I DON'T THINK THEY ARE HAVING FUN AT YOU, HONEY
TAKE A LOOK IN YOUR BROTHERS FACE WHEN HE LAUGHS OUT LOUD
IT'LL SEND JOY ACROSS YOUR FACE AND SPIN YOU IN A CLOUD

I WENT DOWN TO BREAKFAST CHARLIE WAS EATING TOAST
MY FACE WENT VERY WHITE AS IF I'D SEEN A GHOST
A WARM GLOW ROSE INSIDE AS IF IN A CHIMNEY
WHEN CHARLIE TOOK ONE LITTLE GLANCE LOOKING RIGHT AT ME
A BIG GRIN  APPEARED ON HIS FACE FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE
I PUT MY HAND UPON HIS HEAD AND TOUCHED HIS LITTLE FACE
THEN CHARLIE TURNED HIS HEAD I THOUGHT TO HAVE A LOOK
BUT CHARLIE BIT MY FINGER, A REALLY HARD BITE HE TOOK
HARDER THAN I HAD EXPECTED HIM TO,  HARDER THAN I THOUGHT
CHARLIE BIT MY FINGER AND I DROPPED MY EFFING BOOK.

YOU

I SEE YOU IN THE BLACK DRESS
I SEE YOU IN THE BLUE
I SEE YOU IN THE PINK DRESS
IT REALLY SUITS YOU
PRETTY IN ANYTHING
IN MY MINDS EYE YOU DO
BUT DON'T WEAR THE RED DRESS
IT'S NOT VERY NICE ON YOU

I SEE YOU IN THE SHADOWS
I SEE YOU IN THE TREES
I SEE YOU IN THE FLOWERS
SO COLOURFUL TO ME
I SEE YOU ALL AROUND
EVERYWHERE I MAY GO
BUT DON'T PASS  TONIGHT
COS I CANNOT SAY HELLO

I SEE YOU AS A WOMAN
I SEE YOU AS A GIRL
I SEE YOU AS A CHILD
WHEN YOU INNOCENTLY TWIRL
YOUR BEAUTY STILL ASTOUNDS ME
WHEN I THINK OF YOU
BUT DON'T FORGET MY HEART
ONLY YOU COULD HURT ME TRUE

I SEE YOU SEARCHING ALWAYS
I SEE YOU CANNOT COPE
I SEE YOU DRINKING ALL ALONE
WHEN THERE IS NO HOPE
YOU ALWAYS LOVED ME ONLY
EVEN, WHEN YOU WERE ILL
BUT DON'T EXPECT FORGIVENESS
FOR TAKING THAT AWFUL PILL

I SEE THE ILLNESS DROWN YOUR JOY
I SEE YOUR SUFFERING PAIN
I SEE YOUR NOTE HELD WITH A PIN
NEXT TO THE BOTTLE OF GIN
THOUGH YOU'RE BEAUTY HASN'T LEFT YOUR FACE
WHEN I SEE YOU HANGING IN THAT PLACE
THE FLAT WE USED TO SHARE I SEE YOU HANGING THERE
SO DON'T EXPECT TO BE FORGIVEN THIS DAY
YOU COULD HAVE TAKEN THE MISERY AWAY
YOU COULD HAVE GIVE ME ONE MORE DAY

I SEE YOU IN MY DREAMS
I SEE YOU IN MY SLEEP
I SEE YOU IN MY EYES
WHEN I BEGIN TO WEEP
WHY DID YOU HAVE TO LEAVE ME
WHY DID YOU HAVE TO GO
I GUESS IT JUST IS MEANT THAT WAY
FOR ME TO HAVE TO GROW
THAT'S FINE FOR YOU, THEY NEVER EVEN KNEW
NOW I HAVE TO MOVE AWAY
MOVE OVER THE FLOWING SEA SO BLUE
ILL NEVER BE WITHOUT THE WARMTH
I FEEL INSIDE FOR YOU
NEVER WILL BE A DAY WITHOUT
MY LOVE THAT'S HIDDEN TRUE
I'LL NEVER LEAVE YOU ALONE AGAIN
SO DON'T EXPECT ME TO.

Dangerous Driving

On Wednesday I went for a countryside drive
slid off the road and hit a bee hive
A mass of bees came swarming round
And stung me till I was hospital bound.
They Injected me with adrenalin see
To take away my misery
But when well again
I had the last laugh
With a petrol jug made out of glass
I lit the wick with a firestick
And Burned the hive
That done the trick.

SLIME

MY FRIEND VIC WAS SUCH A DIME
HIS TEETH ALWAYS GREEN AND COVERED IN SLIME
HIS HAIR SO RED AND FIERY TOO
LIKE HIS TEMPER' CHILI IN A STEW
SO WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM
HIS NAN AND MUM
COULD HAVE GROWN UP TO BE A BUM
BUT KNOWING GINGE THE WAY I DID THEN
A LAUGH EVERY MINUTE OF EVERYDAY
COULD'NT POSSIBLY BE ANY OTHER WAY.
YES MY FRIEND VIC WAS MY VERY GOOD FRIEND
IT WAS SUCH A SHAME IT HAD TO END

Thought Provoking On Leadership

The Leader is best,
When people are hardly aware of his existence,
Not so good when people praise his government,
Less good when people stand in fear,
Worst, when people are contemptuous.
Fail to honor people, and they will fail to honor you.
But of a good leader, who speaks little
When his work is done, his aim fulfilled,
The people say, ‘We did it ourselves.’
~ Lao Tzu, Chinese philosopher,
Founder of Taoism (born circa. 500 BC)

TRAMP

WENT TO A SHOW TODAY, WALKED PAST A DRUNK
I THINK HOW DISGUSTING WHAT A NASTY SKUNK
SITTING THERE ALONE WITHOUT ANY MONEY
PONCING OFF ME, IT'S NOT VERY FUNNY.
"GO GET A JOB" THAT'S WHAT I SAY
AS HE HOLDS OUT HIS HAND, TO MY DISMAY.
"I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR WORK TO PAY MY WAY",
"I'M 56 YEARS OLD AND FEELING SO ILL,
IT WON'T BE LONG UNTIL I PAY MY BILL".
"JUST AN EXCUSE" I HEAR MYSELF SAY TO THE MAN ON THE STREET,
HOLES IN THE SOLES ON THE SHOES ON HIS FEET.
"GO GET A JOB YOU WORTHLESS LOUT
THEN YOU CAN GET A HOME AND WON'T LAY ABOUT".
"I USED TO LIVE IN A FIVE BEDROOM HOUSE,
HAD LOVELY CHILDREN OF 3 & 4 UNTIL
SHE TOOK THEM AWAY AND THREW ME OUT",
"NOW I LIVE ON THE STREET LIKE A WORTHLESS MOUSE"
"WELL IT'LL DO NO GOOD SITTING ABOUT,
YOU MUST HAVE DONE SOMETHING TO BE WITHOUT?"
"MY ONLY SIN IS THIS, I SWEAR,
80 HOURS A WEEK OF THE HARDEST WORK,
IN A LITTLE TOWN, A PLACE CALLED WARE"
"YES, OF COURSE YOU DID, I SNARLED AT THE MAN
SO WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT?.. AS IF I FROWN"
"I WENT TO BANKRUPT AND LOST IT ALL
SHE TOOK MY HOUSE MY KIDS AND ALL,
NOW I HAVE CANCER WITH NOT MUCH TIME
NO SUIT FOR THE FUNERAL, NOT A DIME.
I DON'T WANT HELP COZ LIFE'S THAT WAY
JUST A BOTTLE OF WHISKY TO HELP THE PAIN"
I KIND OF FELT SORRY FOR THIS MAN'S GRIEF,
SO I GAVE HIM 2 POUNDS AND FELT INSTANT RELIEF.
UNUSUAL STORY I FELT MYSELF SAY
THEN I GATHERED MY THOUGHTS AND WALKED AWAY.

FAMILY

I remember a family sitting together around our small but warm coal fire
A heat we felt was like no other or was that the warmth of my loving mother
coal cracked and spat onto the hearth, no feeling like it upon this earth
I pointed the fire with a poker to expose the flame that rose up higher
Mum told me "you're a fire bug" as she splashed water on the rug,
but then she went away and came back in with lot's of ovaltines and a mug for me.

All of us with such young lives, taking for granted food in the cupboard, like bee's in a hive
If only we could see, how it would be, a struggle to grow and the will to succeed
To earn a living and support our own, savings with cash, veg freshly grown
now growing old, remembering good times, I can still hear your laughter with the wind in my chimes
As a family we never had much yet we had warm clothes, good food and a caring mothers love.

Tories destruction of Britain (here we go again) Now more riots

I could not help looking back at the birth of the year of 2001 the beginning of the present decade, with the hopes and aspirations which we thought would have changed the course of life for the better for humankind as a whole, especially the British Working Classes.
In 1997 we had just seen off 18 years of a Conservative Government which slowly destroyed the Industrial base of England.  We saw the disappearance of the Coal Industry where we witnessed the state of affairs which leaves one to wonder how one woman could turn brothers against brother, fathers against son, and wives against husband, this did happen.
Read more in History
« Agincourt and Henry V: The Warrior KingThe Basics of American History »
We saw the destruction of the Steel Industry where one by one the Steel Furnaces were closing down leaving thousands of people unemployed, while new steel factories were established in India, Korea and Taiwan, the jobs were taken from the workers of this country, and moved overseas for cheap labour.
We saw the privatisation of the Railways where the Trains were sold to one section of private enterprise, while the tracks were sold to another.  We saw the death of the Car Industry where the Car Factories were sold one by one to foreign investment leaving the workers without a means of earning a livelihood.
Even one of the most important industries we had the Rolls Royce Manufacturers of  Aeroplane Engines and Cars was sold to the highest bidder, when all of these industries disappeared so did the livelihood of the people.   The Miners strike was the most potent of all, hatred gripped the country, and all the other industries which were sold had their Trade Unions purposely destroyed.
Now here we go again, we also face riot,s for the second time with Tory government cuts, however the Tories are not completely to blame, there's no denying that a proportion of the blame lay with the Lib/Con cuts  but unfortunately greed has also reared it's ugly head with the want now, spoilt and selfish society that is today's Britain. perhaps if the Conservatives had not destroyed the social care and well being of friendly neighbourhoods, common care for one anothers interests and friendliness toward each other by making britain a money loving, independent and selfish society, then perhaps the riots taking place this week would not be.. however innocent people need protecting and a hard line must be drawn now before it is too late.
At the same time cuts in welfare and social care must be halted immediately and investment in our country has to be made before it is too late and there is no country left to invest in.

MY BROTHER

WE GREW UP IN A HOUSE OF FIVE
SOMETIMES IT WAS LIKE A HIVE
BUSY, NOISY, BUZZING AROUND,
NO WHERE COULD PEACE BE FOUND
FRIENDS OF US ALL EVERYWHERE
IT’S NO WONDER MUM HAD ANY HAIR
SUCH DIFFERENT MOODS
SUCH DIFFERENT SOUNDS
PUNK WAS PETE, ANDY ROCK… AND ROLL ME,
CASSIDY, BYGRAVES TOO
THE HOUSE WAS LIKE A BLOODY ZOO
ONE I RECALL AMONGST THEM ALL
THE TIME I STABBED YOU IN THE LOO
WHY’S THAT SPECIAL YOU MAY SAY  ?
IT’S BECAUSE THE DOOR WAS IN THE WAY
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY BROTHER, FIFTY TODAY
A MILESTONE IN AGE
SO PROUD OF YOU THIS DAY

Mother Read To Me

The Reading Mother
I had a Mother who read me things
That wholesome life to a child's heart brings –
Stories that stir with an upward touch.
Oh that every Mother were such!
You may have tangible wealth untold
Caskets of jewels and coffers of gold.
Richer than I you can never be.
I had a Mother who read to me.

GOOD DAY

HAD A GOOD DAY TODAY
ATE KFC
BEFORE I REALISED THAT IT’S NOT GOOD FOR ME
NASTY MORSEL THAT MADE ME ILL
MY BELLY HURTS IT’S SO GREASY.

DRANK SOME SPIRIT
IT WENT TO MY HEAD
FEELING AWFULLY GREEN
I CAN’T WAKE UP DEAD!!.

KILLED A RABBIT WITH MY CAR
FELT SO SORRY, PUT HIS FOOT IN A JAR.

THE SPURS LOST TO THE GUNNERS
PUSHED OVER BY SOME RUNNERS
KIDS JUST HAVING FUN
PROBABLY THOUGHT, I WAS A BUM.

THATS THE KIND OF DAY I’VE HAD
YET I’M NOT FAZED
AND STILL I’M GLAD WITH MY ELBOW GRAZED

YOU SMILED WHEN I GOT HOME
SO WARM AND TENDER
RATHER SURPRISING SINCE OUR TIFF ABOUT GENDER
WOMEN ARE BITCHES
MEN ARE PRICKS
SINGLE MINDEDLY WE ARGUE, LIKE THIS

THEN YOU SAID, “I LOVE YOU,”  “I LOVE YOU TOO”
SOMETIMES I AM LIKE A BEAR IN A ZOO
YOU SMILE AGAIN, A LITTLE WRY,
GUILTY NOW, I BEGIN TO CRY
YOUR PASSION IS KIND AND SO SINCERE
I FEEL YOUR KISS AS I HOLD YOU NEAR
I MELT IN YOUR ARMS
EMBRACED IN YOUR CHARMS
THEN I WHISPER SO WITHOUT DISMAY, “YOU KNOW BABE”
“IT’S BEEN A GOOD DAY…
…TODAY.”
