FAMILY

I remember a family sitting together around our small but warm coal fire
A heat we felt was like no other or was that the warmth of my loving mother
coal cracked and spat onto the hearth, no feeling like it upon this earth
I pointed the fire with a poker to expose the flame that rose up higher
Mum told me "you're a fire bug" as she splashed water on the rug,
but then she went away and came back in with lot's of ovaltines and a mug for me.

All of us with such young lives, taking for granted food in the cupboard, like bee's in a hive
If only we could see, how it would be, a struggle to grow and the will to succeed
To earn a living and support our own, savings with cash, veg freshly grown
now growing old, remembering good times, I can still hear your laughter with the wind in my chimes
As a family we never had much yet we had warm clothes, good food and a caring mothers love.

Tories destruction of Britain (here we go again) Now more riots

I could not help looking back at the birth of the year of 2001 the beginning of the present decade, with the hopes and aspirations which we thought would have changed the course of life for the better for humankind as a whole, especially the British Working Classes.
In 1997 we had just seen off 18 years of a Conservative Government which slowly destroyed the Industrial base of England.  We saw the disappearance of the Coal Industry where we witnessed the state of affairs which leaves one to wonder how one woman could turn brothers against brother, fathers against son, and wives against husband, this did happen.

« Agincourt and Henry V: The Warrior KingThe Basics of American History »
We saw the destruction of the Steel Industry where one by one the Steel Furnaces were closing down leaving thousands of people unemployed, while new steel factories were established in India, Korea and Taiwan, the jobs were taken from the workers of this country, and moved overseas for cheap labour.
We saw the privatisation of the Railways where the Trains were sold to one section of private enterprise, while the tracks were sold to another.  We saw the death of the Car Industry where the Car Factories were sold one by one to foreign investment leaving the workers without a means of earning a livelihood.
Even one of the most important industries we had the Rolls Royce Manufacturers of  Aeroplane Engines and Cars was sold to the highest bidder, when all of these industries disappeared so did the livelihood of the people.   The Miners strike was the most potent of all, hatred gripped the country, and all the other industries which were sold had their Trade Unions purposely destroyed.
Now here we go again, we also face riot,s for the second time with Tory government cuts, however the Tories are not completely to blame, there's no denying that a proportion of the blame lay with the Lib/Con cuts  but unfortunately greed has also reared it's ugly head with the want now, spoilt and selfish society that is today's Britain. perhaps if the Conservatives had not destroyed the social care and well being of friendly neighbourhoods, common care for one anothers interests and friendliness toward each other by making britain a money loving, independent and selfish society, then perhaps the riots taking place this week would not be.. however innocent people need protecting and a hard line must be drawn now before it is too late.
At the same time cuts in welfare and social care must be halted immediately and investment in our country has to be made before it is too late and there is no country left to invest in.

MY BROTHER

WE GREW UP IN A HOUSE OF FIVE
SOMETIMES IT WAS LIKE A HIVE
BUSY, NOISY, BUZZING AROUND,
NO WHERE COULD PEACE BE FOUND
FRIENDS OF US ALL EVERYWHERE
IT’S NO WONDER MUM HAD ANY HAIR
SUCH DIFFERENT MOODS
SUCH DIFFERENT SOUNDS
PUNK WAS PETE, ANDY ROCK… AND ROLL ME,
CASSIDY, BYGRAVES TOO
THE HOUSE WAS LIKE A BLOODY ZOO
ONE I RECALL AMONGST THEM ALL
THE TIME I STABBED YOU IN THE LOO
WHY’S THAT SPECIAL YOU MAY SAY  ?
IT’S BECAUSE THE DOOR WAS IN THE WAY
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY BROTHER, FIFTY TODAY
A MILESTONE IN AGE
SO PROUD OF YOU THIS DAY

Mother Read To Me

The Reading Mother
I had a Mother who read me things
That wholesome life to a child's heart brings –
Stories that stir with an upward touch.
Oh that every Mother were such!
You may have tangible wealth untold
Caskets of jewels and coffers of gold.
Richer than I you can never be.
I had a Mother who read to me.

GOOD DAY

HAD A GOOD DAY TODAY
ATE KFC
BEFORE I REALISED THAT IT’S NOT GOOD FOR ME
NASTY MORSEL THAT MADE ME ILL
MY BELLY HURTS IT’S SO GREASY.

DRANK SOME SPIRIT
IT WENT TO MY HEAD
FEELING AWFULLY GREEN
I CAN’T WAKE UP DEAD!!.

KILLED A RABBIT WITH MY CAR
FELT SO SORRY, PUT HIS FOOT IN A JAR.

THE SPURS LOST TO THE GUNNERS
PUSHED OVER BY SOME RUNNERS
KIDS JUST HAVING FUN
PROBABLY THOUGHT, I WAS A BUM.

THATS THE KIND OF DAY I’VE HAD
YET I’M NOT FAZED
AND STILL I’M GLAD WITH MY ELBOW GRAZED

YOU SMILED WHEN I GOT HOME
SO WARM AND TENDER
RATHER SURPRISING SINCE OUR TIFF ABOUT GENDER
WOMEN ARE BITCHES
MEN ARE PRICKS
SINGLE MINDEDLY WE ARGUE, LIKE THIS

THEN YOU SAID, “I LOVE YOU,”  “I LOVE YOU TOO”
SOMETIMES I AM LIKE A BEAR IN A ZOO
YOU SMILE AGAIN, A LITTLE WRY,
GUILTY NOW, I BEGIN TO CRY
YOUR PASSION IS KIND AND SO SINCERE
I FEEL YOUR KISS AS I HOLD YOU NEAR
I MELT IN YOUR ARMS
EMBRACED IN YOUR CHARMS
THEN I WHISPER SO WITHOUT DISMAY, “YOU KNOW BABE”
“IT’S BEEN A GOOD DAY…
…TODAY.”

SHAMPOO OOOOH HOOOO

Most people do not realise it but shampoo’s contain many chemicals that have damaging and harmful results to your hair.
Here is a list of some of them chemicals that are in shampoo’s and body washes.
1 & 2) Sodium Laurel Sulfate (SLS) & Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) Along with their chemical cousins, these are in just about every conventional commercial shampoo and body wash. The scientific jury is still out on whether these irritating detergents cause endocrine disruption; however several known carcinogens are by-products of their processing, 1,4 dioxane and nitrosamine.
3, 4 & 5) Parabens: methlyparaben, propylparaben, & ethylparaben are preservatives. They’re also likely hormone disruptors and environmental/potential human carcinogens. Avoid them.
6) Phthalates (fragrance). If your shampoo or body wash says ‘fragrance’ on it, it may contain these dangerous plasticizers. Yes, the same ones recently removed from baby bottles because of health concerns. These chemicals are immune system toxicants, and impact the reproductive system.
7) Formaldehyde. Formaldhyde often forms in processing or in use, and masquerades on labels as other named preservatives; doazolidinyl urea, imidazolidinyl urea, quarternium-15. Reactions include allergies and neurotoxicity.
8) Toluene. An industrial solvent and VOC found in almost all nail polish and some hair coloring. Yuk!
9) Ethanolamines (diethanolamine/DEA, triethanolamine/TEA & monoethanolamine/MEA). These chemicals are emulsifiers and foaming agents, potentially toxic, and easily absorbed by the skin. They can cause liver and kidney damage, especially with repeated use. Avoid even the coconut-derived cocamide DEA/MEA, and lauramide DEA.
10) Propylene glycol. A key ingredient in brake fluid and antifreeze (not recommended for the skin).
So, what to use instead? I’m not out to endorse brands (or risk litigation),
My personal take on this is to stop using shampoo’s completely.
I stopped washing my hair with shampoo approximately 2 years ago and have had good end results.
It started when going for a haircut, I looked in the mirror to see the back, I had bald spot on the top of my head, obviously being paranoid about this I mentioned it in work, My colleagues exaggerated it as they do by extracting the urine  out of me, thanks guy’s you know I’m so sensitive sometimes, but seriously it frightened me, the thought ‘I might be going bald. I know eventually, I probably will go bald but if I could somehow slow it down, would be Good
The next point is after considering it for some time i realized that I used Hair Wax and Gel very frequently for a spiky fashionable look and although it was very nice, my scalp was not breathing naturally, so I stopped using these products. anyone that knows me would witness this, my hair did feel much cleaner but I was still concerned.
One day whilst on the way to work, I began listening to a radio programme, there were people on it discussing the reasons why they had stopped using shampoos. I listened intently to this programme, then decide to try it.
RESULTS
After a week of using just water I realised my hair needed a thorough wash than my normal quick wash.
Week one.. it felt very dirty, I was not happy, I decided that I needed to spend longer washing it. I separated my hair with my fingers and scratched clean my skull every day.

Week two.. My hair felt much cleaner after spending Ten minutes scrubbing it with shower water every day.

after about a month my hair began to feel hard like cardboard and greasy!!, it was at this point when I considered using shampoo again but decided to be more exertive with washing efforts and in particular drying my hair with a towel more thorough. I know the human body has a way of creating a healthy balance and I was hoping this might be the reason, why it was feeling unhealthy.
Now after two years I can honestly say my hair is shiny, soft and clean. I do not have to spend fifteen minutes scrubbing it, I just give my hair a good five minute wash and dry it with a towel.
I never use products on it just water. my skull has worked out a balance of oils and it is not in the slightest greasy.
I’m glad that I persevered with this my hair feels healthier than it ever has been and most of all my dreaded bald spot…..? IT HAS GONE. My hair is thicker, shinier and softer.
I hope that this is of some interest to anyone that questions things.. such as I do. EVERYDAY. Is it Just tabloid guilt flowing adverts that make you feel you are dirty if you do not use shampoo? most probably.

UPDATE
29th December 2011

Still the same, hair is soft and shiny not greasy, five minute wash and a good dry every day.
still feels and looks very clean. there is no bald spot on the back of my head however, Iv'e found that I have a slight recedence  at the front, this means when having my usual cut at the barber I ask for slightly less off the top, although I never usually have long hair anyway.
please keep reading for future changes, but no shampoo is still the right way to go, even my barber commented on how nice soft and thick my hair is...... Pat

FURTHER UPDATE
31st March 2012

Have finally given up and washed my hair in a very cheap non-chemical shampoo
I think this was mainly due to health, although for the last 3 years of having no problems with this method and it has stayed clean and healthy, recently has become, quite greasy and although I am washing it thoroughly it was not improving, conclusion is when  your person is not in the fullness of health it does appear to show in your hair, strange but true, from now on I'll use shampoo.

Friends

My friends

Is he my friend?
How can he offend me?
My friendship request ignored
Oh god.. I'm so bored.

 I sent it last week
My intention is good
Still not accepted
That man is no good.

What a bloody cheek
He has so many friends
From Alfie to Will
But I'm not accepted still.

Well let me tell you people
I may ignore your request
I May accept yours as best
But the people I need more
Are the ones withing my chest

My memories are kept
Stored away for best
Feelings for those
Never will I forget

Acceptance on Facebook
Does not make you my friend
Notice of goodwill
Intentions of good
A smile and kindness
Has the affect that it should.

I never forget my true friends
All withing my heart
I will love them forever
 till death do us part

Even those I know longer see
Are special still to me
Friendship accepted
Until the land has no sea
Until blood has gone from me.

Whatever the weather

Any chance for a dance on this lonely february morn, not a chance for a prance since the day You were born.
any kiss for a miss on this quiet summers  eve
Not a fish on a dish now would you believe
Any time for a rhyme on this rainy autumn day
Not a penny or a dime can get the sun to shine.

Where is hope

Where is hope

In the depth of sorrow,
filled with gloom
The sun shines through
A lightened room

In the middle of a haunting
That appears most daunting
A strength of need
Springs up from seed

Hope abandonment
A joy, is not left
New strength within
Begin again, begin again

Wait for dreams
Simplistic Isolation,
an act of watching
A life of passing by
Sit around, weep and cry

always a good hope
When life is in smoke
Never give in or go without
Not when there is love about.

Happiness is found, when none appears around,
Consider an end, at an end
Fear of hurt, in the past
Your desire is within grasp
abandon your soul
with a heart of glass.
let it last, let it last.

The Little Fete

Author - Li Po 8th Century

"I take a bottle of wine and I go drink it among the flowers.

We are always three ... counting my shadow and my friend the shimmering moon

Happily the moon knows nothing of drinking, and my shadow is never thirsty

When I sing, the moon listens to me in silence. when I dance, my shadow dances too.

After all festivities the guests must depart. this sadness I do not know.

When I go home, the moon goes with me and my shadow follows me"

LIFE

Have you ever wondered what life would be like if you were born into a life without money ?
well here goes Lesson 1.
My belief is that money not need exist, we could go to school for free, use hospitals for free, not one person would complain that another is not working, or is working harder than someone else and earning less, or is getting on better financially than themselves.
lets see, a rolls Royce car is made and costs an absolute fortune, if we were to remove the price of the equipment and materials to make one, also remove the wage paid to an employee to make one, then everybody could have one, sounds simplistic and it is, remove money and remove greed, a person needs a car to go to work then supply their need, if a person has got an absolute vocation to be a doctor or a computer analyst then this could also be possible, it would not matter which gender they are or what background they come from, everybody could be whatever they desire to be, okay there will be a limit to each persons capacity to learn, so the doctor that person becomes would be dependant on personal intelligence, ability or drive, they may only make it to be a nurse but because its their desire in the first place, then wether they are a Auxillary Carer, Nurse, Doctor or whichever level they reach then this would be done with happiness and care, instead of wealth, wages would not be a driving force, no, the desire to make people happy and gain a good place in life would be more important, to live happy and on the same level as everybody else, not be forced into slave labour that is today's England, between 40 and 70 hours a week.
the average working hours could and should be no more than twenty hours, everybody would work and everybody would desire to improve themselves unless they are not able too, through a disability of some description then we would simply make sure that person has anything they want.. this is possible and hopefully in the future it could be a reality.
No more Tax. No more hunger. No more Rich and most of all, No more Poor, No starvation. I hope this message gets through to one person, I hope the world will eventually stop the desperation of the human race from greed. I hate todays brittian, I was absolutely destroyed that this nation would once again vote the conservatives back into power, right wing extremists that only care about making money, even if people that dont quite fit into the perfect hard working tax paying slave bracket that this evil nation expects them to do, they will starve to death, No Work, No money!, We should be ashamed.
I hope my dream comes true one day, get rid of money, there is enough to go round, if we share everything, farming, production, Care and Love, THE EARTH
